Your Battle Red Blog Red Zone Review, Chock Full of Comcast-y Goodness: Indianapolis Colts v. Houston Texans

The Texans' season went off with a flying start as the boys in Battle Red just crushed the Indianapolis Colts 34-7.

Now let's see how they managed in the Red Zone.

Star-divide

1st Quarter

Trip One:

Time:  7:13 - 1st-and-10 at the Colts' 20-yard-line:  With Arian Foster out nursing a sore hamstring, second-year player Ben Tate filled in by running to the right side of the field, picking up two yards in the process.

Time:  6:36 - 2nd-and-8 at the Colts' 18-yard-line:  Matt Schaub tossed a quick pass down the middle to Andre Johnson for seven yards, with the ball down at the 11.

Time:  6:01 - 3rd-and-1 at the Colts' 11-yard-line:  Derrick Ward, the Glacier, slices to the left; picking up the first down off a four-yard gain.

Time:  5:21 - 1st-and-Goal at the Colts' 7-yard-line:  After getting the first down, Ward gets the ball again on a run to the left for no gain.

Time:  4:45 - 2nd-and-Goal at the Colts' 7-yard-line:  Schaub throws an incomplete pass intended for Owen Daniels.  No gain on the play.

Time:  4:39 - 3rd-and-Goal at the Colts' 7-yard-line:  Schaub in the shotgun formation, goes back passes again, this time to Kevin Walter (s sold separately) to the left again falls incomplete.  No gain on the play.

Time:  4:27 - 4th-and-Goal at the Colts' 7-yard line:  Neil Rackers successfully kicks a 25-yard field goal.

Time Spent in Red Zone:  2:46
End Result:  Field Goal.

Trip Two:

Time:  4:13 - 1st-and-10 at the Colts' 12-yard-line:  Schaub passes to tight end James Casey for a seven-yard gain.

Time:  3:43 - 2nd-and-3 at the Colts' 5-yard-line:  Tate runs up the middle for a gain of four yards and a Texans first down.

Time:  2:56 - 1st-and-Goal at the Colts' 1-yard-line:  Ward runs one yard for the touchdown!  PAT by Neil Rackers is good.

Time Spent in Red Zone:  1:17
End Result:  Touchdown.
Score:  Indianapolis 0 - Houston 10

Trip Three:

Time:  2:49 - 1st-and-10 at the Colts' 18-yard-line:  Schaub passes complete to Jacoby Jones for a gain of 10 yards.

Time:  2:26 - 1st-and-Goal at the Colts' 8-yard-line:  Ward rushes to the right for a gain of six yards.

Time:  1:41 - 2nd-and-Goal at the Colts' 2-yard-line:  Tate runs the ball two yards to the right for a touchdown!  PAT by Rackers is good.

Time Spent in Red Zone:  1:08
End Result:  Touchdown.
Score:  Indianapolis 0 - Houston 17

Second Quarter

Trip Four:

Time:  9:08 - 1st-and-10 at the Colts' 17-yard-line:  Tate with the carry loses a yard.

Time:  8:26 - 2nd-and-11 at the Colts' 18-yard-line:  Pass complete from Schaub to Daniels for a gain of 12 yards.

Time:  7:42 - 1st-and-Goal at the Colts' 6-yard-line:  Ward runs left for a gain of two.

Time:  6:57 - 2nd-and-Goal at the Colts' 4-yard-line:  Schaub passes complete to Andre Johnson in the back of the end zone for a touchdown!  PAT by Rackers is good.

Time Spent in Red Zone:  2:11
End Result:  Touchdown.

Trip Five:

Time:  2:00 - 1st-and-10 at the Colts' 17-yard-line:  Pass incomplete by Schaub intended for Andre Johnson.  The pass was tipped by Dewayne Brown.

Time:  1:56 - 2nd-and-10 at the Colts' 17-yard-line:  Matt Schaub is sacked by Colts defensive end Robert Mathis for a loss of three yards.

Time:  1:45 - 3rd-and-13 at the Colts' 20-yard-line:  Tate runs right for a gain of nine yards.

Time:  1:34 - 4th-and-4 at the Colts'  11-yard-line:  Neil Rackers successfully completes a 29-yard field goal.

Time Spent in Red Zone:  :26
End Result:  Field Goal.

Fourth Quarter

Trip Six:

Time:  15:00 - 1st-and-10 at the Colts' 10-yard-line:  Tate is pushed out of bounds to the right for a one-yard gain.

Time:  14:33 - 2nd-and-9 at the Colts' 9-yard-line:  Schaub passes incomplete intended for Andre Johnson.  No gain on the play.

Time:  14:17 - 3rd-and-9 at the Colts' 9-yard-line:  Colts linebacker Gary Brackett picks off Matt Schaub and returns the ball 27 yards.

End Result:  Interception.
