NFL Power Rankings - What do they really mean? What do they really think?

Okay this is my first FanPost so bear with me. I'll do my best but my formatting, linking, etc. are probably sub-par but this should at least be legible.

Power Rankings - you see them everywhere and every time you turn around or open a new sports page on the internet. Any individual list could be (and probably is) skewed for various reasons: bias, ignorance, laziness, you name it. So I've taken the current power rankings from forty-two (42) different web sites and averaged each team's ranking, listing them below. I think this gives a more accurate listing of where the NFL teams are actually positioned and generally thought of relative to each other. The sites I've used consist of professional sports sites, blog sites, and a couple of local sites. I've listed the sites I used below just in case anyone wants to look them up for themselves. If you know of a site you think I should include please leave the name in the comments section.

I know a lot of people could NOT care less about power rankings and, if you really think about it, they mean absolutely nothing. I mean, does a high power ranking help a team get to the playoffs? Of course not, so the only purpose power rankings serve is to provide a point of discussion, be it with yourself [I talk to myself all the time] or with your friends, fantasy football league, brother-in-law's sister's father's cousin's pet baboon, etc. So with full knowledge of the absolute meaningless(ness?) of power rankings, I spent several hours working on this and I have to say, I very much enjoyed it; and I'm still talking to myself about these results. So if you're interested or would like to re-iterate how dumb it is to spend time working on and/or reading anything to do with power rankings, please continue and let me know what you think. Peace!
