So,

1 in 40-something? But I guess we should only count since the current format started.

This has been a special circumstance with the injuries we’ve had and locking up the division so early. We played Vanilla for three games and stayed close in all three loses. We could have played harder, but given up the play-off gameplan.

I like our odds for next week, no matter who we play.

Not unusual at all. Look at recent history.

Three game losing streaks to be exact aren’t that common, but teams winning the SB after a late season winning streak is not the case at all. Even the Pack last year didn’t go in with a streak.

by willieboyd on Jan 1, 2012 3:24 PM CST up reply actions

Final three games for SB champs

2010 Packers 2-1 (4-3 after the bye)
2009 Saints 0-3
2008 Steelers 2-1
2007 Giants 1-2
2006 Colts 2-1 (we beat them for the loss)
2005 Steelers 3-0
2004 Pats 2-1
2003 Pats 3-0
2002 Bucs 2-1
2001 Pats 3-0

Belichick seems to like going in with a streak, but other than that it’s

I really liked that the backup defenders came in ready to tackle...

and that those other receiving options caught some passes and got open. Really encouraging.

Last time we played our starter a full game against them, the scoreboard said 41-7. A 1 point win against nothing but backups is nothing to be happy about.

Honestly, that was the best possible way for that game to end.

The Titans were humiliated and we still have a chance to play them.

Why would you put ANY of our players at risk in an overtime game that meant absolutely nothing to us? Just so that down the road we can go, “Ooh, that was epic win?”

One of the most epic wins in team history? Really?

Our 3rd stringers taking advantage of their stupidity by not kneeling on the ball is hardly epic. Going into OT to get a cheap win wouldn’t accomplish anything other than to make a few fans happy.

Delhomme really didn’t look that bad today. That’s the most we’ve scored in the last 4 games, isn’t it?
