Reliant Stadium Violated Federal Workplace Safety Rules On Saturday
The writer for the science blog on the Houston Chronicle has a short article about the sound level at Reliant Stadium this past Saturday during the win over the Bengals.

Maybe this really is the reason stadiums don't release sound level readings?
A decibel reading on the scoreboard during critical points would be a pretty sweet way to amp up the crowd, though.
I'd be interested to see if there's any difference based on location, too.
I want to know how much louder it is in the middle of the field compared to the press box and the nose bleed section.

Probably loudest
Wherever sound reflects to best, regardless of where the most noise is coming from

ummmmm
50 cent ear plugs will do nicely for people who can’t handle their own shit and want to control other peoples lives
People seem to think
this article was written to tell people not to be too loud in the stadium. It isn’t, the point is to say we were so loud it violated federal rules, it’s giving kudos to the Texans fans at the game, nothing more. Unless I’m the one misinterpreting the article.

well then,
mea culpa, and screw federal guidelines. “they’re more like guidelines, anyway”

That's how I read it too.
The woman in the article said she didn’t want to go to the game. She’s not that big a fan of football in general, and didn’t see a reason to potentially damage her hearing for something she doesn’t care about.
She wasn’t saying not to go or be loud at the games.

Tailgate Andy?
That dude is still alive?! Whoa.
Capt. Nately: You're a shameful opportunist! What you don't understand is that it's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.
Old man in whorehouse: You have it backwards. It's better to live on your feet than to die on your knees. I know.

It's a myth.
I’m linking to Chron articles from beyond the grave.
