Jacoby (Jack'n it up) Jones

Do not let my username fool you, I have been a die hard Texans fan since day 1. I follow football much more closely than I do baseball, but I love my stros. As much as I love my stros I despise Jacoby Jones. I have never liked Jones, I have been beging the Texans to get a better reciever than him for 3 years but for whatever reason the Texans like him, well thanks to their love for Jacoby we are not in the AFC championship game. That being said they have got to cut him this year. I have seen a few post calling for it already, but I noticed a lot of people saying they want a new recieving core. I dissagree with that. We need to get rid of Jacoby and keep Walter. What I have wanted for the last few years was for the Texans to get a #2 guy because Kevin Walter is a great slot reciever. They need to spend a 1st round draft pick on a #2 reciever, if the talent is not there(when they get to pick) they need to trade up to get that reciever. I have no problem for making an Atlanta Falcons like trade for Blackmon. Our roster is young and deep, we are missing only 1 or 2 pieces. 1 first round pick and a couple of 2nd rounders is worth getting one of those pieces. That is more than what Atlanta paid for Jones and I am fine with doing that. Because all we need besides a #2 reciever is a #2 corner. BTW Jackson did not look as bad as usual agains Baltimore.

I don't think this team was missing anything needed to win the super bowl

other then health. Yes there is room to get better, but a healthy schuab and williams and daniels and we could have gone all the way.

Trading up

I agree that trading up to get a top of the draft WR is a good move if you can make it. But as far as how far away they were; the Texans were a healthy Matt Schaub away from the AFC Championship and potentially the Super Bowl this year and should be a Super Bowl contender for the foreseeable future. In the draft; this team will only get better and deeper than it already is.

Jacboy Jones, wut?...

I don’t get what Jones was doing that day.

Why in the world would he even attempt to recover a punt at all? I would just let it bounce and see where it land. The chance of a touchback was quite a lot. It have a slight chance to stop before the endzone, but so what? Just mean we need more yards to get up-field. Fumbling a punt is too great. He could see defenders swarming on him right before the catch, so why even catch it? In fact, why was he near the ball at all?

Honestly, we could have won that game. TJ needs to get his vision and decision-making fixed, if he want to be a 2nd-team backup next year. Jones, well…maybe a trade to get a better WR?
