The 2011 Texans remind me so much of the 1996 Broncos

Both teams experienced very difficult playoff losses. After that Broncos team was upseted in the playoffs, they were determined and motivated and they went on to win 2 super bowls. I truly feel like that is going to happen with the Texans.

Begining of somethin BIG !

2011 Texans showed what a real team is supposed to do when faced with adversity. I’m sad that the season came to an end but extreamly proud of they way they played all year. This is just the begining and looking forward to next season. Forever Texans Fan !!!

Thanks for a great sason

Never been more proud to be a Texans fan. Hope this is the start of something big for many years to come. This whole team showed what a football team should not only play like but also band together and show off their talent. Texan fan for life. Go Texans

the bad news

is that Jacoby seems to be headed no where (at least from what kubes said)

by Gayang3 on Jan 16, 2012 11:48 PM CST reply actions

Kubiak is a diplomat.

He’s not going to come out and say that Jacoby’s no longer welcome in the Texans’ facilities.

I fully expect Jacoby will be given a fair shot in camp and preseason next year. With his contract extension and subsequent poor season culminated by a horrendous gaffe in the biggest game of his life, I expect (hope?) that if he doesn’t show drastic improvement as a receiver and return man, that he will be looking for a new team before opening day.

If Jacoby wants to stay on this team

He needs to restructure his contract. He is not worth 3 million a year, he is barley worth 1. He did nothing on special teams, and he did nothing as a receiver.

31 receptions
512 yards
2 TD’s

WHILE MISSING DRE for about half the season. He should have at least put up 800 and 5-6 TD’s.
Likewise, no other team will pay him more than 1 mill a year. If I was in his position I would ask to restructure my contract and take a pay cut .

DeMeco played one HELL of a game.

It’s been said that Andre finally got to the playoffs and all…but what about DeMeco? Granted, he wasn’t here nearly as long as Andre but he was the heart and soul of this defense for a while.

Right on schedule for his injury.

And he shouldn’t have that cast or whatever next year.

I suspect he's going to need surgery for whatever that is

When he initially got hurt it was reported as a bad elbow bruise IIRC. Yet he’s been wearing that behemoth of a brace all season. That tells me two things….1) The injury was far more significant and wasn’t one that would heal on its own……2) Meco likely made the decision to forgo surgery and play with it all year.

His Robo Cop arm

was a huge hindrance to his tackling all year. now if they gave him a legitimate robot arm it would not be so bad?

THIS RIGHT HERE
(on the priorities will be in terms of personnel and the organization’s thoughts on Mario Williams) "I can’t even begin to go there as far as talking about our team and how get better and this and that. Like I said, I’m strictly in an evaluation process right now for me and the coaches looking at players trying to put a pecking order basically in how we think our football team finished the season. That’s our biggest priority right now. As far as Mario, obviously Mario is a tremendous player. He’s done a great job here. Those things will work themselves out. I know Mario wants to be with this organization and this football team. That’s part of the process. We’ll get going with the process, but Mario has always worked extremely hard and been a very positive influence with this organization and this team.

Big chance Mario is comin back!

One of the things I like about the Mario situation

With Brooks Reed showing he can fill in, what that means to me is that the Texans have one more player to their “They don’t stop coming” rotation. With fresher bodies. they definitely won’t stop coming!

Imagine the LB contingent they will have going into next season if they can keep Mario. There won’t be any reason to accuse Mario of taking off any plays, because, he will be taking them off on the sidelines while Reed is in there spelling him. Mario will be fresh from the start of the game to the finish.

A solid Rotation is

what connor barwin was talking bout yesterday. IF we get Mario back, the three of them will be rotating in and out. Imagine a Defense that never tires!!!! Gawd is it AUGUST YET?

Plus, hasn't Mario needed that little push that comes from the competition from teammates?

He has that now, for sure.

He's never really had it before

Mario has always been the sole marquee pass rusher. He’s never had to worry about playing time or the threat of someone out performing him. It would be interesting to see if real competition could raise his game. That would be scary.

Once he made the adjustment to LB

Just having a good DC and a good scheme seemed to elevate his play.

Great JJo comment

(on the defense outplaying Baltimore’s defense yesterday) "We always said the best defense on the field would win the game. Things didn’t work out in our favor and unfortunately we didn’t come up with the win. This game is a team effort and we didn’t make enough plays at the end of the day to win the ball game."

No excuses, no pinning blame on anyone else. That’s the mark of a true leader.
