I can see why we brought in Jake Delhomme.
So I just think the mindset of this team is very, very good and I truly believe that. These guys work. It’s such a pleasure and a breath of fresh air to come here this year and to watch these guys work and see how they prepare. The NFL has been absolutely wonderful to me and when I see people do things the right way; I just have so much respect for that. These guys do it the right way. The organization and everything is run right and I’m just glad to be a little piece."

How can you not appreciate a guy with that outlook?

I liked this one as well:
I learned more in this game than I think I have in the last month and I’ve learned more in the last month than I have in my life as far as football and trying to catch up.

I truly think this team will advance, possibly to the AFC champioship game

Both Casey and Rackers talking about turf:

Rackers:

(on the field conditions) "Right hash it felt great because obviously I walk to the left so you’re in the new grass, but left hash it was a little rough out there at times but you just do your job."

Casey:

(on the Reliant Stadium turf after hosting a bowl game yesterday) "Right hash felt great because obviously I walked it a lot. The left hash was a little rough out there at times."

I almost thought there was an editor’s error there until I reread Rackers’ quote (which came later in the article).

Maybe I Could Suit Up, Then

I liked this one, about how he stayed in game shape even when he wasn’t on a roster:
“I was in Disneyworld the week before for Thanksgiving with my family and I guess all that walking around and following Mickey got me in shape for the first week”

Whoops

Meant to reply to Delhomme comments above. Newbie mistake.

Well he probably was walking around the sideline with a clipboard.

Ryan Clark can't even play in Denver becuase he has a condition that hampers his health in high altitude

He has sickle cell trait.

Lack of oxygen (among other things) can cause his red blood cells to become sickle-shaped.

He had a crisis in 2007 and had to have his spleen and gallbladder moved, but he can probably play if he stays aware of his condition during the game.

I believe they said he's already out for the game

Innegan still being a bitch
(on them waiting to see if they are going to make the playoffs) "It’s like Christmas Even before Christmas. That’s basically what it is. I think the Ravens are up 7-0 right now. We have ourselves a chance. We did the best we could. We ended the season at 9-7. It was a winning season for Coach Munchak."

Oops. Wrong quote
(on if he was surprised the Texans went for two points) "Not at all. I’m definitely not surprised at the Houston Texans. I think they wanted to show that no matter who they put on the field, they want to embarrass us and beat us and we ended up winning."

I know there will be time for this later, but

any chance we look at Innegan? ((ducks and dodges flying objects))…he is a FA and he plays man like a mutha. He probably wouldn’t irritate me (or Dre) so much if he was wearing a Texans uni.

Damn you vile woman, you've impeded my work since the day I escaped your vile womb ...

I had fun watching the game

knowing that a win meant nothing, same as a loss meant nothing. It would have been nice to win, but to see everyone get a chance to play was cool, until the bad snap, but fuck it… Bring on the Bengals!!!
