The Titans think we have it all
I just saw this on my google news. Seems like they are afraid of what we have over here and is looking forward to several years of been the 2nd or 3rd best.
What do you guys think? Will Jake Locker step up his game as necessary for them to compete? Or will they be relegated to the back of the pack? And how long do you think we can be continuously good ?

Preposterous
The division is still wide open.
On the real, while Locker certainly shows potential…their lines just aren’t good to me. Losing Jim Washburn was a real setback for them and their interior offensive line blows chunks.

They need some big pieces to fall into place, starting with Locker,
and they need Britt and CJ to come back strong.
I like Munch as their HC, but he has some holes to fill.

I was looking around on another site
and I saw someone say “As a Ravens fan, I think Houston wins the Super Bowl next year. They’ll have almost no weaknesses.” It’s odd seeing all of these people start to give the Texans props.
As much as I love Munchak...
….he’s got a lot of rebuilding to do. Purely for the sake of maintaining instability on all OTHER AFC south teams, I hope that we can count on Beelzebud’s notorious lack of patience to pull the rug out from underneath Munchak if he isn’t playoiff ready in 12 months.

It is kind of funny

Not to mention firing the best coach the Oilers/Titans ever had
after 3 highly successful seasons.

Well for the next few years at least.
Titans have a new HC so he’ll be trying to get the guys he wants on that team over the next few years while trying to groom Locker.
Prediction: 11-5 AFC South champions.
We do have it all
QB – Schaub. He’s arguably in the top 8-9 in the league in terms of talent/efficiency within his system.
RB – Foster is a magical human being. Tate almost got to 1,000 yards as a back up with a fraction as many snaps as Arian. There is no better rushing tandem in the league. I dare anyone to try to prove other wise.
WR – By the time Andre is done he will be in the hall of fame. Walter is a solid possession guy. Jacoby is meh but not every fast guy can be Victor Cruz.
TE – Daniels is a top 5-6 TE. Dreesen is a red zone monster. THOR is…well…THOR.
O line – Best in the league. Period.
D line – JJ Watt went from damn good to un-freaking-believable by the end of the season. Smith can generate a good pass rush when he isn’t being constantly double teamed and chipped. Cody is adequate at best but by no means the liability he once was. At least he is improving. Overall this line is one of the most efficient odd fronts in the conference, if not the league.
LB Corps – Mario will be back. That is at least 12-15 sacks right there. Throw in Barwin likely hitting double digits despite constant chipping, Cushing and Meco generating interior pressure off of Wade’s famous exotic stunts, and Reed rotating in to get his daily dose of QB blood and you have a LB corps that is capable of getting 30-35 sacks easily next year. Add in Cushing and Meco’s run stopping ability and Barwin’s pension for tackling outside runs for losses and I have no qualms calling this unit early favorites as the best LB corps in the NFL next season.
CB – I feel comfortable calling Joseph the second best corner in the AFC right now. Depending on how Scrabble bounces back next year JoJo could end up being top 2 in the NFL. Kareem showed tons of improvement in the playoffs and Allen, for all his faults in guarding slants and fade stops, was pretty good at defending the deep shot. McCain is a good nickle guy and we have good depth with Harris and Carmichael for a few years. I’ll call this a position of strength despite not being completely confident in CB2.
Safety – Manning paid for himself by game 7. GQ showed time and time again how good he is at knocking people the fuck out. They could be the most under rated duo in the conference, and I’m perfectly fine with people under estimating them. It makes it all the more sweet to watch them pick people off.
Coaching – Kubes is an offensive genius. Wade is a defensive legend. Knapp can turn any QB into a playoff winner. Vance made a terrible secondary not terrible. Our o-line coach is one of the best in the league. Our LB coach somehow get Mario ready to play OLB in 3 weeks. I could not imagine a better staff.
Front office – Rick put together a roster that weathered more major injuries than any other team and still made it to the divisional round, and is going into the 2012 season without any real major starting needs in the draft. That is a position any team would be envious of, even this year’s superbowl champions.
So, over all I agree with which ever Ravens fan posted that quote. We really do don’t have any positions of weakness. If we don’t get a Superbowl birth next year for reasons other than injury, I would be shocked and disappointed.
Very encouraging and I agree: this team is loaded.
I fear for the WR position, though. Hurtin’ severely for depth there, or even a productive #2. That should be fixable this off-season.
At QB, I’m a bit concerned about Schaub. He did not look good throwing the deep ball in 2011 and his completion % declined for the 2nd year in a row. I’m hoping this was due to injuries that will have plenty of time to heal before camp. At least, for the first time ever, I believe we have a quality #2 here who is possibly good enough to win the job some day.
Altogether, is there a more solid team throughout its roster in the AFC? Don’t think so. I think it is entirely reasonable to expect Koob to lead this group to the AFC title game next January.
