I think the depth of "good" QB's has expanded thanks to the rules over the last 5-10 years.

I think teams realize that the whole position is being neutralized if any QB can do well, so teams are focusing on defense and not developing QBs.

That play simultaneously crushed our early momentum and gifted them 7 points. Watching the rest of the game only confirmed how decisive Jones play was.

I don't have the same expectations for a 3rd string, rookie QB making his 7th or 8th start and playing a talented veteran D as a 4 year pro.
The heart of this team allowed them to continue to battle back, but Jones play ended up being a true difference maker. Plus, TJ actually made some plays. WTF did Jacoby do to help his team win exactly? One lucky-to-in-the-neighborhood fumble recovery?
I don't care if he's a rookie or not. You can makes excuses or you can just look at the facts.
Just from an objective view point they blew that game with the QB play and really that’s what it boils down to. If Jones’s fumble was the only turnover of the game the Texans still win so blaming him for the loss alone makes no sense.

BS. He was just bad in every quarter except the 2nd.
Damn why so many excuses? Just admit he had a horrible game. It wasn’t unexpected but he helped dig that hole as well and kept them in that hole.
I’m not saying he’s bad or anything just he was the main reason they lost and you can’t objectively tell me he wasn’t.

But again, what are our expectations for a player? I think it’s beyond fair to expect a 4 year pro making 3 million a year to not make the kind of boneheaded play that would get a jr high player benched.

To be honest when he took over the offense sucked. They went from 27 PPG to 17 and the passing game disappeared.
And Yates had throws that would have benched a High School QB in that game. Much less a NFL pro.

Yates were making big contributions for the Texans this past season, second-round CB Brandon Harris, whom the club moved up to draft, was pretty much a forgotten man. Word is Harris’ lack of speed made it hard for him to get on the field, even on special teams.
