Big ol’, lumbering gait when he runs, too.
Would not touch him until the 3rd round, by which he’ll be long gone.

Wut
Punctuation, “their”, not “there”, capitalization errors…then you respond to your own post with the same information…and the same errors. WOW. And caps? Really?
But to respond, I completely disagree. ONE WR between the two rounds, but we have other needs than just loading up on expensive WRs.
Welcome to BRB though.
Thank you Texans for 2011.
The 2012 season can't start soon enough.
Honey Badger for President
im doing this from a phone so this is alittle difficult.
Thank you for the welcome.
The Texans need depth in one spot, WR every thing eles has that depth,
Your probably thinking well we need a NT well not really Cody and
Mitchell do great, or we need a true SS well no Quinn da sh** and then
we got Nolan and Demps, or we need OL Nope that line coming back no
way they letting them go or we need more Linebackers well no watch the last game
of the season and jus watch them linebackers,
All we really need is WR’s and maybe a corner
The reason I say get all WR’s is because the Texans are cleaning them out
They will probably keep 3 AJ80 JL18 KW83
Unreadable.
But welcome, anyway.

Quinn was one of my favorite defensive players this year
quietly had a great season.

I'm fine with a WR in EITHER the first or second
but not both. Our offense doesn’t need that many mouths at WR when we have good TEs and receiving backs. I’d rather use the other pick on an interior offensive linemen.
The Houston Texans: The Ron Paul of the NFL.
Good call.

Not sure what is so critical in 1st round
Really good WRs can be had in round 2. I would not be opposed to trading down for more picks, then taking a WR. Depending on what happens with Mario – I wouldn’t mind another OLB in the first couple of rounds.

If Sanu or Kendall Wright aren't available,
I’m for BPA in the 1st round and two WRs later.

Just can't see Smithiak taking a burner...
….especially with so many big-bodied playmaking WRs on the board. It’s a good situation to be in as I think they’ll be in position to listen to a lot of offers, trade up or down to make the best deal, and still walk away with at least 1 starter and some decent depth for 2012.

If Wright’s there at #26, I think he’s probably the BPA and the Texans will grab him.

I'm generally a big fan of the strategy behind taking the BPA...
…and maybe my memory is going on me, but can you remember the diminutive burner-type WR playing a major role in Kube’s offense in the past? And it makes less sense for me considering the angle of being the heir apparent to The Greatest.
If Sanu and Wright are BOTH available at #26, I think they go with Sanu.

Maybe, assuming the Brain Trust likes Sanu as much as BRB does.
But I think Wright has game-changing talent, and a team like Houston that has no must-fill holes would have to take him if its favorite guy was gone.

However I question his ability as a blocker
WRs getting downfield blocks are a big aspect of our running game

Agree, but he's the kind of guy who can scare safeties so much they might as well be blocked.
With him and ‘Dre on the field at the same time, no team would dare bring its safeties up tight. On play action, they wouldn’t know whether to shit or go blind.
/visualizes safeties lining up at the back of their end zone, CBs 20 yards off the line
That’s it. The Kool-Aid is swallowed. I want him on our team.

I have to admit that visual is wood-producing....

a burner could help on 3rd and longs where you arent looking for blocking
but that would be a guy you try to get in the late rounds.
Good call. A 3rd and long receiver who could help out on ST as well...
Like Holliday would be if he didn’t have to stand on his toes to see over the bar.

not a fan of jeffery
and i will be unhappy with them even looking at him if there are other receivers on the board, especially sanu. im sorry, but given his dubious history, i dont think you can justify picking jeffery. he sounds like the receiver version of fat albert- attitude galore, over weight, lazy, and will only play good when he wants a contract. he may have awesome physical attributes, but i think he has bust written all over him. id rather someone else draft him and him turn into a good receiver than us draft him and him turn into a bust.
i also dont think its wise to draft 2 WR in the first 2 rounds. we need receivers, but not that bad. i agree with barry- if there are a couple of WR that we like at the end of the first, beginning of the 2nd, i dont have a problem with them trading down and grabbing one of them. my perfect texans draft? 1-WR, 2-DT, 3-OLB/MLB, 4-WR, 5-OL,6-S,7-K. and yes, i put kicker there. why not?

I wouldn't mind
getting a running back in the 4th-7th and letting Ward go in FA. I like Ward but our 3rd string tailback doesn’t need to be paid very much.
The Houston Texans: The Ron Paul of the NFL.
or wait until the cuts after camp
there’s gotta be enough RB talent for a 3rd stringer for the minimum.
TJ must throw 30 times for us to win.
see i was wondering if the Vikings let caleb king go.
I would be all over getting him in camp.
2012 1st round draft pick is...............
Ditto. Jeffrey makes me nervous.
Character issue guys drop like rocks for Smithiak .

Well,
What about Jeffster then? That would be a Kubes special right there.

if we trade back
2-WR (Sanu!)
2-DT (Ta’amu)
3-C (Molk)
3-LB (MLB or OLB/DE) (Tank Carder)
4-WR (McNutt)
5-OG (Gettis/Blackwell)
TJ must throw 30 times for us to win.
Sanu's probably too hot.
Unless he shits the bed at the Combine, he’ll go in Round 1.

At the latest, he's gone at #33

Not too sure how Carder will perform in the NFL
The guy’s Football IQ and instincts are incredible, but he’s just too slow for the Pros. I watch TCU play all the time since they’re one of my favorite schools to watch, and I love the guy. I just don’t see him being able to run sideline to sideline to try and contain the CJ’s and JC’s of the world.
