Wild Card Weekend Open Thread: Lions @ Saints

I have to admit, I have a soft spot for the Saints after my trip down there. Stand up and get crunk in the comments if you are watching the late game.

My second team is pretty much the Saints now.

And apparently a lot of Louisiana expats live in Katy. There were a few people sporting Saints shirts (and at least one with a Saints shirt and Texans cap) all through our game (Stadia Cinco Ranch). They were filing in about halfway through the 4th.

Dallas Cowboys, all hat and no cattle since 1996.

I want a Lions win.

Usually go for the underdog.

Huh?

Is there another game?

by FreedomRide on Jan 7, 2012 7:15 PM CST reply actions

So combined with DET -11

I now have DET -18 for the rest of the game.

I’m liking my odds here.

Wow, they figured out a way to work Brett Favre into the game.

Went over to Cincyjungle.

It just sunk in.
Their season is over.
We have one more game (at least) to get geeked up (Kube’s term) for! Feels good, man.

Texans weren't underdogs.

And part of me hopes so too. Would love end their postseason next weekend just like we did to the bears last year

Just got back from the game. ELECTRIC ATMOSPHERE!!!!!!

The stadium was going crazy on the JJ Watt INT returned for a TD. One of the best parts during the game was when there was around 2 minutes left and they played DJ Khaled “All I do is win”. The crowd was yelling and screaming and when the part “Everybody hands go up” and it got completely silent then went crazy again. It was one of the most memorable moments at the game.

by Tony Ung on Jan 7, 2012 8:07 PM CST reply actions

Seriously, people:

the Texans have just UTTERLY DESTROYED the Bungals, and set themselves up for a house money re-match with Joe Flaccid and the Blatimore Revoltins next week.

Whatever else happens in the NFL playoffs this weekend is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.

Fuck all these other teams: the Texans are going to Blatimore to kick butt next week.

That’s all that matters.

Congrats to TJ Yates

Who has as many playoff victories as Tony Romo.

by TheDream34 on Jan 7, 2012 8:12 PM CST via mobile reply actions

I'd rather the saints win

I want the only non-super bowl winner in the playoffs to be us

Uh-oh.

Are we seeing a Saints’ choke-a-thon?

Back from watching the game with my dad

I’m speechless. So incredible.

I'm a little scared

Next year I assume we’re going to be among the pre season favorites to represent the afc in the super bowl. From years past, we have not played well when we’re favorites. Maybe that’s different now.

by TheDream34 on Jan 7, 2012 8:48 PM CST via mobile reply actions

Maybe. Possibly.

Next year will show whether Koob really has it or not.

by FreedomRide on Jan 7, 2012 9:22 PM CST up reply actions

Really?

After it was revealed Peyton was going to be out indefinitely the Texans were seen as the default AFC South champs. Expectations were never higher than this year with the Manning injury and the Wade hiring in the offseason.

Years past the Texans were expected to contend for a Wildcard spot but this year it was from week one that they were expected to win the division.

Prediction: 11-5 AFC South champions.

by Ethan Matz on Jan 7, 2012 9:55 PM CST up reply actions

If we can

Keep healthy as well as keep Wade. I think we have and good shot at competing with anyone, even the against the Packers.

Packer fans were saying before the injuries

How we was maybe the only AFC team that could hang with them in the Super Bowl. I think we would’ve had a shot.

And that includes the 07 patriots and this years packers.

by TheDream34 on Jan 7, 2012 10:12 PM CST via mobile reply actions

lets wait for their next game

to judge, seriously they beat detroit a lower ranked team…

by wizteknet on Jan 7, 2012 10:14 PM CST up reply actions

Not to mention a pretty overrated defense in Detriot

49ers have a legit defense.

My thoughts are like Brian Cushing on the field: Everywhere.

Man seeing how the saints beat down on all of these at home

Makes me proud of how close we played them there. Still should have won that game though.

by TheDream34 on Jan 7, 2012 10:19 PM CST via mobile reply actions

Not to mention that the defense started slower than the offense

If we played them now, different story.

Were you watching in HD?

I’ve noticed the HD in the house lags behind the SD on the same channel.
