Ben Tate "Going To Miss Some Time" With Hamstring Injury

Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE

Coach Gary Kubiak says Houston Texans running back Ben Tate will miss time while recovering from a hamstring injury.

Gary Kubiak said on Monday that running back Ben Tate is "going to miss some time" after suffering a hamstring injury. He injured the hamstring against the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 21st and has not practiced since. Kubiak did not rule Tate out for this week's game against Buffalo, but his inability to practice today and continued possible absence from practice this week would not seem to bode well for his chances of contributing on Sunday. If Tate can't go, Justin Forsett will be the primary backup for Arian Foster.

The hamstring pull is the latest injury in what has been an up-and-down season for the third-year running back. Tate battled a toe injury that caused him to miss the Week Five MNF game against the New York Jets.

Tate has 43 rushes for 178 yards and two touchdowns this year. Those numbers are down from his production in 2011, when Tate played in 15 games and rolled up 942 yards for the Texans. Before you get too down on Tate's production this year as compared to last season, remember that Tate was the featured back for the first three games of the 2011 season when Foster was hurt.
