I have to level with you, friends. I'm worried about the Horns tonight (6 p.m. CDT on Fox). West Virginia's offense is straight out of a video game. The Texas defense hasn't been as strong as I thought it would be, and I don't think the Horns' offense can keep pace with Geno Smith & Co. Texas has to give WVU the Peyton Manning Treatment--run the ball, keep Geno on the sidelines, and hit him early and often when the Mountaineers do have the ball. Easier said than done. I have a hard time envisioning watching tonight's game any way but with a stiff drink and on the edge of my seat.
While the WVU-Texas game is the crown jewel of this week's college football action in this historian's humble opinion, your view may vary, thanks to LSU-Florida (2:30 p.m. CDT), Georgia-South Carolina (6 p.m. CDT), or even Washington-Oregon (9:30 p.m. CDT). This is your open thread to talk about all of today's games. Take full advantage of the virtual space.
