Despite Gary Kubiak's optimism on Saturday, Adam Schefter is reporting that Ben Tate will likely miss the Texans' game on Monday Night Football this evening.
Gary Kubiak, after Saturday's practice:
(opening statement) “Practice-wise, (RB Ben) Tate did practice. (RG Antoine) Caldwell did practice. I would rule out (WR) Lestar Jean and (FS Quintin) Demps as of today, but Caldwell is definitely ready to go. I’ll go back and look at Tate. I expect him to go but I am very comfortable with (RB) Justin (Forsett) and the practices he’s had if he’s our two in the game. He will do a good job for us. We’ll see.”
Things have changes since then if you believe what Adam Schefter is reporting this afternoon. Namely:
Houston Texans running back Ben Tate, a limited participant in last weeks practices due to a toe injury, is unlikely to play Monday night against the New York Jets, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Many Texans fans have expressed concern about the amount of touches Arian Foster is getting. Even though Justin Forsett is a capable backup, I wouldn't look for a significant decrease in Arian's carries this evening.
