Yahoo called it a "questionable block". NFL.com just referenced the injury itself. The fact is the hit on Cushing was a dirty play by Matt Slauson. He dove at Cushing's leg which also shows intent.

If Roger Goodell doesn't bring down a SIGNIFICANT fine and suspension on this player it will send a signal to players like this that it is open season on defenders. How will the players react to this? Will other players see how far they can push the rules? Will it take someone becoming crippled for life to change things in the NFL? We all know that the QB is protected and defenselessness receivers are protected. What about defenseless defenders?? Why would a player who gets hit in the back of the legs not be protected? My biggest question is where was the call on the field? How can "PROFESSIONAL REFEREES" miss THAT?? These were the real refs right??

This was worse than any hit I saw from "Bounty-Gate". That was sickening and MUST be punished immediately. If it is not, Goodell is a bigger joke and I even realized and the NFL "safety" policies are a huge farce.
