Hi guys, I'm arodgb over from Acme Packing Company, Green Bay's SB Nation blog.
First off, if you don't mind dropping a few rec's so this fanpost stays near the top of the new discombobulated fanpost section. Thanks.
The Packers are currently sitting at 2-3, with a couple bad losses to the Seahawks and Colts. I hear y'all are sitting at 5-0 for the first time in franchise history, so congratz on that. Oh, the memories....
Anyways, some quick facts about the Packers this season
Our offense has been pretty bland through the first five weeks. A great first half showing last week against the Colts, good performance against the Saints, and not much else. Cedric Benson, our starting RB, is definitely out for next week's game. Jermichael Finley and Greg Jennings are both questionable (#1 TE and #1 Receiver).
Offensive line has been the weak point of the team this season. We gave up eight, eight!!!! sacks in the first half against the Seahawks. Rodgers has been running for his life most of the season. I'm fully expecting JJ Watt to have the best game of his career this Sunday.
On defense, we've improved from the 32nd ranked defense in 2011, but not by much. The pass rush is coming along, but apart from an early season explosion by Clay Matthews, it still just isn't where we would all like it to be. The pass defense gets a lot of flak, but they've held their own. Good #1 receivers absolutely kill us though.
The run defense has been pretty average as well. Not spectacular by any stretch of the imagination. And I probably won't be thinking any different about them after this week, since we face the best running back in the NFL on Sunday.
I dunno, I don't have much confidence that we'll win this game. Sure, we might keep it close, but with your playmakers on defense (Joseph, Watt) and on offense (Johnson, Foster, Schaub), I don't think we're going to win this game.
