Foster Vs Mario, Who has the bigger impact and will help the team more in 2012?
Since we are all talking about who to sign and who to let go and since there are so many different facts floating around with so many unknowns, I am trying to simplify the discussion with this question.
The underlying assumption here is that we want the team to be better or at least perform at the same level that they did in 2011. So, given that, who has a bigger impact on the team and has the potential to help the team more in 2012.

If it was between those two, I would have to go with Foster.
We could trade Tate for a 1st round pick and draft a pass rusher.
I figured that if I said it enough, I would convince the world that I really was the greatest.

I brought up the option of trading Tate
and was told emphatically that Tate will not get even a second rounder. :(
You really think we could get a #1 for Tate?

I think we could get
something quite substantial for tate…

but there's absolutely no reason to try
RB needs quality depth, and he’s starter quality getting a large number of touches.
He’s probably our most valuable second stringer.
TJ must throw 30 times for us to win.
Yeah, I can't forget all the suck we've had to endure at RB over the years.
There is no reason to mess with a position that has finally become a team strength.

I'm no expert, but I feel like we could.
He has proven he is a very good running back. I mean. Mark Ingram got drafted in the 1st round. I would think some team would be willing to get a proven running back. But that’s just my best guess.

So if FOSTER is key to the team
And he can help the team in 2012 more than Mario can (according to the poll results) shouldn’t we first lock up Foster for good (no tags no tenders, just a good ole long term contract) and then only look at Mario? In that case why even worry about Mario’s contract at this point in time?
Lock up that endzoned nosed twitter toes
and tell Mario to get better on someone else dime, or take a pay cut and then we can talk.
Still have contracts next year too foo. Sorry, been reading Naruto

I think they are both important to their side of the ball
the metric I’d use for both is how much of a premium should we pay vs. what they are worth.
If either wants to stay and allows us to sign with only a slight premium, that’s who I’d sign. And I wouldn’t regret not excessively overpaying for the one that left.
TJ must throw 30 times for us to win.
sorry for not answering the question posed
If I’m cornered, its Foster.

if we don’t re-sign foster, i’m going to cry.
