Puh-LEESE! How did they not notice JJ Watt?

What did Von Miller do that JJ Watt didn't do? other than be on Tebow's team? Was JJ Watt robbed? I think so. I don't even know or care if they play the same position. I seriously thought we had another DROY on our team this year.

JJ Watt is a monster!

Question, do they release the voting? Where did JJ Watt fall in the order? Oh, I see. He didn’t even get a vote. This says a lot about the national media. There are 50 national media members voting and perhaps the best player of the bunch doesn’t get a vote.

I say the best player in the bunch, because JJ Watt is so well-rounded. He impacts every facet of the game. He is not a situational player. And, he excels at everything he does. He is awesome against the run, getting tackle behind the line of scrimmage. He has moves on pass rushing downs that are simply astounding for a big man. He has height and reach with the know-how to block, and sometimes catch, passes. He is a complete player. The other players are awesome, don’t get me wrong, but they are one dimensional pass rushers. We Texans fans have a special player here in JJ Watt. I don’t know if it is possible for me to have a man-crush, but I might be able to do it for JJ Watt. Special player.

I get that the Texans have such an awesome stealth program that we TOTALLY fly under the radar. This is the kind of cloaking/stealth that a Klingon or Romulan could be proud of. I get that come September 2012, there will be massive media amnesia regarding our playoff run. And in the collective sports media mind we will have reset to the 2010 season. And I also get that come September 2012 our playoff run was an anomaly of the week for 17 games (yep another tip o’ the hat to Star Trek Voyager for coming up with those space anomaly of the weeks that were so lame I quit caring what Janeway was up to and damn their hides for making me not care about a woman commanding a starship).

It just smells of the media admitting that they were really only watching Tebow’s games. There’s NO WAY that they could have been watching Houston games and NOT noticed JJ Watt. They really should qualify their voters and make sure that they actually watched all the football humanly available ;-).

Were all 50 of these national media people actual sports fans or just capable readers of sports stats? Was McClain one of those 50? I’d be majorly peeved if he didn’t even put JJ Watt’s name up.

although, I guess in all fairness

I shouldn’t be only believing their credibility if they pick players from my team. As in , I can’t really say — “yeah ! they’re geniuses! they recognized Cushing way back when.” And now turn around and call them idiots for awarding DROY to Von Miller.

But . . . come on . . . we’re talking about JJ Watt.

Aldon Smith rushed the passer 441 times...

Von Miller did it 469 times. He did everything Smith did as a pass rusher plus held up full time as an excellent 4-3 OLB on running downs.
