I am not sure how the whole compensatory pick thing works. Up to now I ve heard that it depends on the total free agency and that if we let go of more players than we sign that we will get compensatory picks (or something along those lines). As hard as it may be in letting some of these guys leave it would dampen the fall if we get a few high enough picks at the end of all this carnage.

Can someone more knowledgeable in the convoluted ways that the FL usually works in, shed more light on to this?
