I was reading the full interview Foster did and a thought crossed my mind.
Foster said all the right things before the contract (about wanting to stay in Houston, about how he is grateful to the Texans for giving him a chance and how money is not the only thing etc etc) and he followed it up with his actions. He did not negotiate on the media, he did not want to become the highest paid RB in the market (although he could have made a case for it), he did not want to hold out and he repeated even in his interview how he is a "houstonian" and how Houston is home for him.
And then we have Mario, he says almost the same things, how its not all about money, how he does not want to be the highest paid defensive player, how he got a good rookie deal and how he has since had everything he ever wanted etc etc, so will Foster and his contract have any impact on Mario? Will he be influenced and convinced that he too should stay here with the team and take a cap friendly deal.
What do you guys think? Can camaraderie and the desire to build a legacy be more motivating than getting the most amount of money?
