The Houston Texans Drinking Guide

Hello BRB,

Over the last couple weeks I've been working on a collection of Texans/BRB themed drink recipes to enjoy come draft day (and throughout the season of course). Some I have not quite perfected, but I have been able to invent and/or modify several drinks that I have grown to love. There are easy drinks, hard drinks, and a couple you can barely call drinks at all, but one thing is for sure...they're damn good and they'll get you on the ground faster than Blaine Gabbert in a 3rd and long.

I'll be adding more as I get money to try more booze perfect more recipes. You are all also welcome to post your own mixes.

DISCLAIMER FOR LEGAL STUFF: If you are not 21 years of age, do not buy/make/consume alcohol. It's illegal mm'kay.

The KTFO

- ½ oz Vodka

- ½ oz Strawberry Rum

- ½ oz Tequila

- ½ oz Gin

- 2 oz Sprite

- 4 oz Glacier Freeze Gatorade

Add Vodka, Rum, Tequila, Gin, and Sprite to chilled glass. Stir, then add Gatorade. Stir again. Enjoy.

The Battle Red Brew

- 1 oz Red Curacao Liqueur

- 2 oz Vodka

- 2 oz Hawaiian Punch

The Bloody Mary O'Williams

- 1 oz Fleissmann's vodka

- 6 dashes Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce

- 3/4 tsp horseradish

- 3/4 tsp celery salt

- 9 oz V8 vegetable juice

Add the V8 juice, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, and celery salt to a mason jar, cover and shake well. Add vodka and shake again. Sample and add additional celery salt, pepper or horseradish to taste.

The KiloWatt, MegaWatt, and GigaWatt

- 1 oz (Kilo), 2 oz (Mega), or 3 oz (Giga) Cherry Vodka

- 4 oz Sprite

Add Sprite to glass, and then choice amount of Vodka depending on drink. Rim glass with Pop Rocks candy.

Not Too Schaubby

- 2 oz Strawberry Vodka

- 2 oz Cherry Vodka

- 2 oz Kiwi Vodka

- 2 oz Dry Gin

- 1 oz Lemonade

Add all three Vodkas and Gin to highball glass with ice cubes. Add Lemonade. Mix.

The David Carr Bomb

- ¾ Pint Guiness

- 1 shot Jim Beam Whiskey

Pour the Guinness into a pint glass or beer mug 3/4 of the way full and let settle. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and chug.

The Two Headed Monster

- 1 scoop vanilla Ice cream

- 1 scoop chocolate Ice cream

- 3 tablespoons white chocolate sauce (ingredients below)

- 4 oz unsweetened white chocolate

- 1 cup whipping cream

- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

- 4 oz powdered sugar

- ¼ cup white chocolate liqueur

- 3 tablespoons alcoholic chocolate sauce (ingredients below)

- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate

- 1 cup whipping cream

- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

- 4 oz powdered sugar

- ¼ cup chocolate liqueur

This is an amazing alcoholic ice cream experience. The hardest part was making the sauces, and after a bunch of unsuccessful tries I found a recipe for these that works. This also applies to white chocolate.

Combine chocolate and cream in a heavy 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring often, until chocolate has melted and mixture is smooth and creamy. Remove from heat and set aside. In bowl of electric mixer, combine the softened butter and powdered sugar. Beat low speed until sugar is blended, then increase speed to medium-high. Beat until mixture is very fluffy, about 5 minutes, stopping to scrape down side of bowl once or twice. Transfer sugar mixture to top of double boiler over simmering water. Cook, whisking often, until mixture is silky smooth, about 10 minutes. Whisk the melted chocolate into the sugar mixture. Continue to whisk until sauce is smooth and glossy. Add the liqueur and whisk to blend. Refrigerate until ready to use. Reheat in top of double boiler over simmering water, or serve at room temperature.

After your sauces are ready, Add 1 scoop of chocolate ice cream to a tulip sundae glass, then glaze with white chocolate sauce. Add 1 scoop Vanilla ice cream on top. Glaze with chocolate sauce. Boom, you're done. Grab a spoon, enjoy the taste, and go get hammered.

Cap'n Meco

- 1/4 oz cherry brandy

- 1/2 oz Captain Morgan® spiced rum

- 1/2 oz Lime liqueur

- 1/4 oz Grenadine syrup

Mix one part grenadine and one part cherry brandy in the bottom of the shot glass. Add liqueur on top of that. Top with a layer of Captain Morgan.

The 80

- 1 shot of Devil's Springs 160 proof Vodka

- 8 oz Mountain Dew Code Red

Add 8 oz Mountain Dew Code Red to glass. Mix in 1 shot vodka. Be advised, 160 proof (80% ABV) is nothing to fuck with. DO NOT DRINK IT STRAIGHT! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Some of these drinks can get a tad expensive (especially buying and shipping Devil's Springs), so be prepared for that. Also, don't be stupid...drink responsibly. Nobody likes to be "that guy" that decided he could do 4 KTFO's in an hour and puked all over the couch. I'll make sure to post more drinks as I get more time to play around with ingredients. If you have any of your own concoctions, feel free to post them and I'll add them to the list.
