Smile, Mercilus family. Whitney just officially became a multimillionaire.
Not that your Houston Texans agreeing to terms with their first-round draft pick was ever in doubt, but it's official now--Whitney Mercilus has been signed.
While we don't know the terms of Mercilus' contract yet, the new CBA takes a lot of the mystery out of the equation. The 26th pick of the 2011 NFL Draft signed a four year deal worth a total of $7,550,000.00, so we can likely expect a small increase in total dollars a year later.
The only Texans draftees who remain unsigned are Brandon Brooks and DeVier Posey.
