An Open Letter to ESPN's Paul Kuharsky from an slighty puzzled Texan fan.

Ok so a little back story on this letter. I wrote it about 2 weeks after the NFL draft and tried to send it to ESPN's AFC Blogger to see what he thought of what I had to say about it. However due to ESPN's poor coding the letter was not sent. I took at stab at re-sending it numerous times after(My guess is that it was too long) but to no avail, either way I thought it might be interesting to post it here and see what reaction it might receive. Anyway enjoy!

Hi Paul,
I am wondering if you could explain how the Texans GM Rick Smith's brain works because i've tried to find logic for some of his moves this off-season.

I'll acknowledge the cap restrictions and the severity at which they were at. I also accept that re-signing Mario Williams was close to impossible considering the cap and the amount he was asking for. But how can he remove 2 key leaders from the team in favour of keeping Jacoby Jones? Granted both of them cost more but if you're going to lose 2 at least keep one of the leaders and not a guy who quite frankly cost the Texans dearly in the game against Baltimore.

What's even more stupid was the fact that EVERYBODY knew they were going to take a WR in the draft so why keep Jones over Winston or Ryans?

So before the Draft the Texans had blown up the right side of one of the best offensive lines in the entire league and basically kicked out 2 of the leaders of the team and created a new hole at MLB. 1st round of the draft we take the DE/LB out of Illinois which is fine by me because it's filling the whole left by Mario and with Wade Phillips one can never have too many pass-rushers. But what really irked me more then anything else is what the Texans DIDN'T do in the second round. With the holes still in the right side of our O-Line and 1st round O-Line talent(Martin,Glenn,Adams) still on the board we sat on our hands and refused to do anything. So instead of doing anything we stay where we are and watch all the O-Line men come off the board. Now by some miracle Rueben Randle, a guy projected to go to the Texans in the 1ST ROUND somehow falls to us and what do we do? We trade out of that spot and then go and take DeVier Posey with the pick we got in the 3rd round. In what way is Posey better then Randle? I mean Randle has no of the off-field issues Posey has plus he's regarded by everybody as a better WR. So why would you trade away from a better WR to take one of a lesser quality?
