Houston Texans Injuries: Danieal Manning Reportedly Out 6-8 Weeks (UPDATE: Manning Has "Significant Knee Injury")

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Texans reportedly lost starting strong safety Danieal Manning to a right leg injury in the loss to the Rams.

The results are in and Danieal Manning will miss 6-8 weeks after hyperextending his right knee. His knee was twisted around sometime in the third quarter.

Shortly after Manning went down, Shiloh Keo was burned by Jared Cook on a 34 yard pass that set up another Rams' touchdown, which made the game 24-6. Manning was also replaced by Keshawn Martin in the return game. Martin, of course, fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Daren Bates returned it for a touchdown, changing the score again to 31-6.

Manning will be replaced by either Shiloh Keo or D.J. Swearinger for this week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

UPDATE: Tania Ganguli talked to Manning. He says he doesn't know the extent of the injury or how much time he'll miss yet.

UPDATE II: Gary Kubiak briefly addressed Manning's status at his Monday presser. As you can imagine, it was not positive:
