Let's take a ride on the not-so-way-back machine to August. Imagine if I told you then that come November, the 2-6 Texans would be facing off against the Cardinals with Case Keenum taking the reins at QB while Arian Foster and Brian Cushing Were already done for the season. Tim would have kicked me off the masthead for being a troll.
Well, it looks like that nightmare has become a reality. Foster will undergo back surgery, joining Cush in the infirmary.
Meanwhile, Ben Tate is dealing with four broken ribs and Cierre Wood is kicking off his career as a Patriot. Stupid cigars. If anyone out there can play running back, please call the Texans immediately.
I guess the silver lining, if there is one, is that the season was a lost cause well before today, so Foster might as well do whatever he can to get as healthy as possible for next year. As someone who's had plenty of back issues, though, I know that it's almost impossible to fully eliminate the issue. Of course, not knowing Foster's specifics (and not being a doctor), I really can't say that's the case for him. Here's hoping that he has a full recovery and a long footballin' career.
