Week 9 Thingy - Return of the Replacement Refs?

After watching yet another replacement ref game that seemed to have everything go wrong, I am having trouble finding the right twist of humor or a positive outlook on things right now. You mean those were the real refs? I suspect it really was a group of replacement refs secretly inserted by the NFL as a "test." Not even the ever-so-famous MSPaint Stuart Scott can make me smile.

I believe we all have expressed our concerns and prayers for the Kubiak family over our fallen head coach. I see a great common theme run through these threads of the folks here at BRB that make me proud.

What happens when a "bullocks" takes place?

From Wikipedia - the utmost authority on the interwebz:

A "bollocks" : Comparable to cock-up, screw-up, balls-up, etc. Used with the indefinite article, it means a disaster, a mess or a failure. It is often used pejoratively, as in to have "made a bollocks out of it",and it is generally used throughout Britain and Ireland.

Bullocking

Things that made me go "Heh" and are stolen:

Life before the computer: Memory was something that you lost with age. An application was for employment. A program was a TV show. A cursor used profanity. A keyboard was a piano. A web was a spider's home. A virus was the flu. A CD was a bank account. A hard drive was a long trip on the road. A mouse pad was where a mouse lived. And if you had a 3 1/2 inch floppy...you just hoped nobody found out.

In that section of the seriously what the hell is still going on department (insert Marijuana Pepsi Sawyer reference here) -

Why has Marciano not been fired? I have no real idea, yeah he is a good man - but he has been an awful special teams coach. Something tells me he would have a job someplace after he gets let go (I am really hoping he gets let go as in "now"). Marciano Terminated

Speaking of Bad Guys:

I won't get into all of this here and now - but overall, the Dolphins Organization appears to be a train wreck.

Remember: Mike Pouncey won't apologize for 'FREE HERNANDEZ' hat? It gives a whole different meaning of "Ass Hats"

Ass Hats

3

Number of 1st downs the Colts got by penalties. Also the number of complete passes in the 1st half for the Colts.

0

Number of 1st downs the Texans got by penalty

6

The most tackles by any Texans player - Shilo Keo

19

Number of 1st half rush attempts for the Texans. There were 17 pass attempts by the Texans that half.

14

Number of 2nd half rushing plays for the Texans. There were 17 pass attempts made by the Texans that half. So the answer is no, the Texans did not run the ball more the second half. It "appeared" to me that the offense got more conservative in the 2nd half, and may have, but there were indeed less running plays than passing plays. Looking back at drive charts, the Texans had a couple of times in the 2nd quarter where they ran the ball a lot - 6 times in a row once and 5 times in a row another.

Easy One Pot Recipe:

Use a Crock Pot - slice 2 1/2 lbs baby back ribs so you can stack racks in the bottom of crock pot. Sprinkle with Stubb's Dry Pork Rub (or your favorite)add salt and pepper if you like and gently rub ribs before placing in pot. Dice one onion and put it over ribs. Add about 1 tsp of minced Garlic (I usually chop my own) add a cup of Stubb's Sweet Heat BBQ Sauce (or again your favorite)

Cook for about 6-7 hours.

I know this isn't an entire meal, but just add a couple of easy sides like baked beans, corn, or potatoes and you got yourself a tasty meal for the game or whatever.

Well, here is to hoping we have at least some more exciting Texans football to watch this week!
