Cousins, Carr, or Cutler??

Case Keenum is not the answer to the Texans QB woos. He isn’t now and I don’t think he will ever get the chance to be in the future. The only opportunity that he is ever going to get to prove that he is the guy is happening right now. Let me tell you a secret...it isn't going very well. Going into next year the Texans are going to have to address the QB position, whether it be through the draft, trade, or free agency. They could go with Bridgewater, Carr, Bortles, or Manziel with their picks in the draft. They could trade for a guy like Kirk Cousins or they could dish out the cash and sign Jay Cutler in free agency. Here are just a few of the options that the Texans could take.

DEREK CARR

Derek Carr is supposedly right now the second best QB available in the draft. He could even be the best assuming Bridgewater doesn’t come out. Even if Bridgewater does come out there are a large majority of scouts and GM’s that think he could potentially jump Bridgewater come combine and senior bowl time. I know a lot of people hate the name Carr and want nothing to do with Derek for that reason. However, watching his tape I have to say that I think he is a much better prospect than his brother and I think with the talent that we have in place that he could be much more successful than his brother ever was in Houston. He has a hell of an arm, he is pretty mobile, and he is pretty accurate. The only knock on him is, can he read a defense pre-snap. I wouldn’t mind going with him if he is the best guy available.

KIRK COUSINS

Another option that the Texans could take is Kirk Cousins. Cousins has replaced RG3 as the starting QB for the Redskins and is getting the chance to show the world what he has got. He played pretty well against the Falcons on Sunday. He is going to get the chance to audition for other teams during the next two games. I think he has the potential to be a starting QB in the NFL. I know the Redskins are asking an awful lot for him right now in a first round pick but I don’t think any team will give them one for him. I think it would more likely be a second or third round pick. I think I would be willing to give up a second round pick for him. Cousins is another guy that I could see in a Texans jersey.

JAY CUTLER

Jay Cutler…the proven veteran free agent QB. The Bears are seemingly not going to franchise the guy. Would the Texans be willing to spend the money to get him? I think that they would be willing to if the price is right. If the Texans wind up with Lovie Smith as the next coach I think that Jay would definitely become an intriguing option. It will come down to three teams for him in Free Agency; the Texans, the Titans, or the Bears. I don’t think any other team has a chance at signing him. I could definitely see Cutler in a number six Texans jersey.

I am not sure who the Texans are going to wind up with at QB. These are just some of the options that they could take. They could go with Bridgewater if he declares, they could go with Josh McCown, or they could take some other guy. It should be obvious to everyone by now that Case Keenum isn’t the answer. I wish that he could have been but it’s just not working out. Who would you rather have at QB out of Cousins, Carr, or Cutler?
