In an attempt to make the Pro Bowl less of a joke, the NFL decided this year to have Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders draft each respective team. You read that last sentence correctly.
As this also provided a fine reason to manufacture content for the NFL Network, the draft was televised over the last two nights. Although I'm sure you watched every second of both broadcasts, here's a summary of the players drafted on Tuesday night and here's a summary of the players drafted last night.
The takeaway for Texans fans is that J.J. Watt and Duane Brown will remain teammates on "Team Sanders." Watt, a captain on Sanders' team, had this to say about making sure his Texans teammate was on his side:
"I know 1st-hand how hard it is to play against this guy & I really have no interest in playing against him on Sun." Watt, who picked Brown— Dave Zangaro (@DZangaro) January 23, 2014
Watt and Brown are the only two Texans who will play in the Pro Bowl on Sunday (6:00 p.m. CST) with Andre Johnson bowing out due to injury.
