2014 Pro Bowl Open Thread

The Pro Bowl kicks off at 6:30 p.m. CST, Sunday, Jan. 26th in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Here it is folks! The game you have been looking forward to for a year. Oh wait, that's the Super Bowl, which will take place next Sunday. Or is it the day after on Monday? If a blizzard were to hit the New York area around Friday or Saturday, contingency plans are in place to deal with the cleanup time for MetLife Stadium and move the game schedule out as needed.

From The Weather Channel:

To be clear, we are not anticipating a major storm with heavy precipitation to affect the Northeast on Super Bowl weekend. However, we are expecting a frontal system to slide into the Northeast Saturday, potentially stalling out into Super Bowl Sunday. With colder air retreating, all precipitation types, from snow, to sleet, freezing rain, even rain, are on the table with this system. While the majority of our guidance suggests most of this precipitation may fall Saturday into early Sunday, we still can't rule out any lingering precipitation during the game itself.

According to NFL Executive Vice President Eric Grubman, the game could be played any day from Friday, January 31 to Monday, February 3, in case of a major winter storm. According to Grubman, there would need to be 36 hours lead time to move the game to a different day.

No need to worry about snow right now, as tonight's all-star game is taking place in beautiful Hawaii, where the temperature is showing a high of 81 degrees. Team Rice will take on Team Sanders in this first ever "non-conferenced" fantasy-draft version of the Pro Bowl. Your Houston Texans are represented by J.J. Watt and Duane Brown; both playing for team Sanders. You can see the full rosters for both teams HERE.

So pull up a chair and enjoy the antics, but be sure to warm up and stretch first. Share your thoughts about this Pro Bowl, the upcoming Super Bowl, Texans' coaching changes, draft prospects, or anything else on your mind (that is within the site guidelines, of course).
