If you don't feel like scanning today's open thread for the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine, here are the results from Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles, and Johnny Manziel's height, weight, and hand measurements this morning:
Teddy Bridgewater 6'2 1/8 214— Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) February 21, 2014
Blake Bortles 6'5 232— Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) February 21, 2014
Johnny Manziel 5'11 3/4 207— Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) February 21, 2014
Hand size: Bridgewater- 9 1/4, Bortles- 9 3/8, Manziel- 9 7/8.— Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) February 21, 2014
1. The concerns about Teddy Bridgewater being too short, too light, or having carny hands should now dissipate.
2. Johnny Manziel fell just short of hitting that magical measurement of 6'0" tall. While I believe the concerns about how he'll adapt to the NFL are legitimate, it seems absurd to think that a quarter of an inch will have any appreciable effect on his draft stock. If a team likes him, they should like him just as much at 5'11 3/4" as they would if he measured a flat 6'0".
3. Johnny Manziel has some freakishly large hands.
4. Blake Bortles is a big boy.
