QB from South Carolina, Connor Shaw.
I started studying South Carolina to watch Clowney after the Texans went on a losing stint and were on the road to the number 1 pick. Everybody knows the pros and cons of Clowney so I won't even go there. I couldn't help but notice this QB that never ever turned the ball over, NEVER. Ok...maybe once.
He doesn't have the best build but he got rid of the ball fast, made smart throws, could check the ball down, and he could flat out run. He completed 100% of his passes in one game. So why doesn't this guy get all the hype of Manziel, Bridgewater, or Bortles (even after SC beat UCF)? Who knows?
I heard him in an interview say that if he doesn't get drafted he will join the Army and try out for the Rangers, or Special Forces. In my experience in dealing with people with that mind set they seem to be super motivated, like to work and usually are pretty intense about it.
The more I watch him the more he reminds me of Russell Wilson. Real efficient with the ball, gets into a rhythm, and runs when he has too. I haven't studied Bortles too much and I think Bridgewater is going to be a decent NFL QB. All this hype around Manziel is largely due to his ability to extend plays. That can't be your number 1 quality in the NFL.I never really saw him get a good feel for his offense, get into multiple rythms in a single game and not fly out of the pocket, but he is fun to watch.
It would be hard for me to pass on this guy in the 2nd round. Definently wouldn't let him out of the third. Go check him out.
