As the loathed and despised Tennessee Titans make their way to NRG Stadium for today's contest against our Houston Texans, we're concerned about how our abysmal team is going to perform against their abysmal team. The Texans looked like trash last week against the Dolphins, and the franchise has been mired in bad headlines all week, so the fact that WR Cecil Shorts III (hamstring), ILB Benardrick McKinney (concussion), CB Kareem Jackson (ankle), C Greg Mancz (knee), and ILB Akeem Dent (hamstring) have already been ruled out of today's contest with their injuries means we're only waiting on two names to be added to the "he ain't playing today" list.
Some possible additions to the "nah, not him" list are G Brandon Brooks, who's been battling turf toe for a while now and is a game-time decision, CB Charles James II, who turned up on the injury list with a foot ailment, and DE J.J. Watt, whose back has been bothering him all week. We're hopeful all three will be well enough to participate, because our OL desperately needs some stability, our special teams was the team's best-performing unit against the Dolphins (yeah, it was that bad), and no person in the fanbase wants to see this defense without Watt available.
For the Titans, they've already ruled out second overall pick QB Marcus Mariota (knee), so QB Zach Mettenberger gets his second start of the season. Also ruled out are CB Perrish Cox (hamstring) and WR Harry Douglas (knee). Tennessee has previously listed C Andy Gallik (concussion) and CB Jason McCourty (hamstring) as questionable on Friday's injury report.
