Houston Texans running back Ben Tate is unlikely to go on Monday night against the New York Jets, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Houston Texans running back Ben Tate is unlikely to play Monday night against the New York Jets because of a toe injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

He didn't participate at all on Thursday or Friday, but returned to limited action on Saturday. Then, Houston head coach Gary Kubiak believed Tate could be ready to go and listed Arian Foster's backup as questionable. If Tate is indeed out at New York, Justin Forsett will take over behind Foster.

Tate has averaged 29.2 yards through four games this season. He has 117 yards on 30 attempts with two touchdowns on the year.

Forsett has rushed six times for 35 yards in 2012. The 5'8, 194-pound running back has 1,322 yards in his career, the first three years of which came in Seattle.
