Captain of the Tailgate
Captain Of The Tailgate - The Best Dream Tailgate
First off, I hope every had a great Thanksgiving Day and is enjoying their post-Turkey haze.
If the new section on the left-side menu didn't give it away then the fancy branding does. We've got ourselves another new sponsor/running feature here on Battle Red Blog.
SB Nation has teamed up with Captain Morgan's to drum up some tailgating talk once a week in hopes that you'll buy more rum to help make Sundays much easier learn something that will make you the "Captain of the Tailgate." With the Houston tailgaters regularly being called the best or among the top-five in the NFL, what better blog to do that on than BRB? None, I tell ya.
For the time being, this is the last scheduled post with Captain Morgan's, so, after posts about drinks, food, home experiences, and Thanksgiving tailgates, I'll end with a bang. What is the ideal/dream tailgate for you? Who is there? What kind of food are you cooking up? What drinks are available? What are you cooking on? Are there any gadgets you wish were invented to make your tailgating experience better? Go crazy, folks.
As always, Marisa Miller's below the jump waiting for you. Yes...she's waiting just for you.

We've talked Best Drinks, Best Foods, Best Home Experience, and now: Best Thanksgiving-themed Tailgate.
Why am I asking about a Thanksgiving tailgate? Well, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so I was wondering if anyone here had done a Thanksgiving-themed tailgate? You know what I mean: Cranberry BBQ Sauce, stuffing, grilled potatoes with gravy and/or cheese, a delicious deep fried turkey, and some pumpkin beer or spiced rum. Has anyone done that? I know it's a few days after Thanksgiving, but is there anyone planning on deep frying a turkey before the Tennessee game?
You know what I'm thankful for? The weekly jump to Marisa Miller.

We've talked "The Best Drink" and "The Best Food," so this week, appropriately enough, let's talk about what one does when the Texans are on the road.
Does anyone bust out the grill at home when the Texans are on the road? Do you grill for yourself or does misery love company and ribs? Do you prefer the home tailgate and viewing party to the one at a stadium? Or am I a buffoon for suggesting that there can be tailgating anywhere other than Reliant?
And yes, I'll stop talking now so you can jump on to Marisa Miller.

Last week, we kicked around "The Best Drink," so let's talk the "Best Food" this week. I'm a big believer that burgers are king of tailgate fare because they are A) relatively quick to cook B) easy to eat on the move or standing and C) can be adjusted to different tastes with condiments and toppings. A 80/20 beef patty cooked to medium-rare/medium is simple and perfect.
If burgers are the best then these are two of the better burgers I have ever had in a parking lot: Pizza Burger and Black and Blue Burger. These aren't the actual recipes of the burgers I ate/cooked, but they'll get you started in the right direction.
What does your mouth water for...aside from lunch later today. Speaking of mouth-watering, our friend First Mate Marisa Miller waits after the jump.

Whether it be at Reliant, or something else, let us know what you bring to eat, drink and play with as you await your team's game. The topics we will hit weekly will be:
- The Best Food
- The Best Drinks
- The Best Festivities
- The Best Gear
- The Best Gadgets
This week let's talk the "Best Drinks" category. I'm a beer and rum-and-coke guy when it comes to tailgating drinks. Why those? Rum-and coke because I can easily pour rum right into the bottle of coke, and beer is delicious.
What do you do? Also, Marisa Miller's after the jump...seriously.
