Bush league
Well last night at midnight I got home, after having a motorcycle running into my left rear quarter panel on my way home to watch the game.  I missed Mario's 2 solo tackles on Bust, uh, typo, Bush, his sack, and his forced fumble....not to mention the verbal antics of you assholes on this blog.  But Mario came through, I didn't have to rend my clothing or pour ashes on my head, and lucky for me, no vaseline was required at the police station. But I did get to see a guy on a crotch rocket, sitting on a 30lb bag of rice, go superman over my car. But that was not worth the price of seeing our revamped secondary (sans Petey) contain Brees and Bush league. Way to go Texans!
P.S. the guy was ok, and able to walk out, after minor repairs in the hospital.

wow
jeez, dude, are you in the country?  Or down south?

I am down south
got taken to police "head" quarters in Ahuahapan on the Guatemalan border. Normally with an injury case they jail you for 72 hours until fault is determined, here. But they figured out that I got hit in the rear, and am the only one in the country with lights and blinkers, so they let me go. The guy really had a huge bag of rice tied to his seat, and he hit me at about 55 mph.

Man.. sucks about the rice burner
Sorry you had to miss a good game - but, if it will help you imagine - picture Reggie waking up in a cold sweat because he had a dream that he was playing the game naked.  Then picture Mario stepping from a shadowy corner with a jar of vasoline... with one thing on his mind.

It was kinda like that.

I disagree
I just don't think the vasoline fits into this metaphor.

But otherwise, yeah...it was pretty much like that.

We can be critical of the draft picks, but in the end we always support the new Texan.

that's what I was gonna say
And that's unless you are mcclain/justice.  If you are one of those guys, bush ran amok all over the texans D and Mario was invisible.

In fact...
Mario actually tried to throw a block FOR Reggie, but somehow fucked that up, too.

I seriously despise Richard Justice.  I would like to kick him in the face.

Revision
How bout: "...Mario stepping from a shadowy corner with 60 grit sandpaper wrapped around his schlong... with one thing on his mind." ?

That's great to hear he had game
But how about that secondary...I haven't heard much but they must have had a hell of a time back there, being a new starting unit more or less. The whole team sounds like they needed the weeks rest and were ready to go after the bye. I'll be back in H-town on the 24th and my neighbor keeps the games recorded for me. Amazing how Mario did so much being invisible and all...

Respectable
The secondary was very 'bend but don't break'... but what made them 'respectable' instead of just 'serviceable' was them making the plays when they absolutely needed to.  A few examples:
  • C.C. Brown's forced fumble and recovery as Bush was trying to sneak into the endzone was a key play early in the game.  Most likely a 6 point swing.
  • Von's pick came as they were driving into the red zone.  Easily 3 pts - maybe more they way Brees and Colston were hooking up.
  • But the secondary play of the game was Bennett's disruption of a sure completion as NO went for it on a 4th and 2.  They were desperately trying to get back in it, but when he broke up that pass, he effectively broke their will.
Demps and Brown played well from their safety spots (combined for 11 tkls) --- And although not members of the secondary, the LB's did well in coverage also.  DeMeco had a hand in keeping NO from converting a 4-10 from our 35 and Morlon Greenwood had a pick that set the tone for the 4th quarter.

So yeah - for a bunch of young fill ins - they a fine job keeping Brees and his boys in check.
