Watching Thursday's Game

Despite being an AFC matchup, Thursday's tilt between your Houston Texans and the Denver Broncos will not air on CBS.  Instead, it's scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. CST on the NFL Network.  The dispute between the NFL and cable providers has been well documented elsewhere, so I'm not going to go into it here.

Here's the good news--if you live in the Houston and don't get the NFL Network, you'll still be able to watch the game on KTXH (Ch. 20) thanks to a league rule that all games shown on cable must also be broadcast on on an "over-the-air" station in each participating team's home market.  In other words, this is the other side of the coin for Houston getting hosed on New England-Indianapolis earlier this year.

Now, if you don't live in Houston (or Denver) and don't have the NFL Network, this thread is for you.  If you're headed to a bar, restaurant, or something of that ilk that you know will be broadcasting the DEN-HOU game, feel free to share that knowledge (like Solis did here for San Antonio-area fans in connection with last week's game and BigTexBD mentioned here for Austin-area fans for Thursday night's game).  There's no reason any Texans fan should be deprived of watching Super Mario break the ten (10) sack barrier for the first time in his career.

Thanks Tim
As soon as I figure out where I'm gonna watch the game I'll post it.  I might be across the street at the neighbors - which would suck because they are avid Cowboys fans, and I know I'd be one of the only one's rooting for the Texans.  But atleast I'd be in stumbling distance of my house.

The alternative would be to hit the town and meet up w/ other like minded Texan fans.  That would be the more expensive option - but better than the alternative of dealing with a garage full of 24 year olds talking trash every time a Texan gets tackled.

Either way - I'll let yall know.

Okay - it's down to two spots
Here they are:
Champps on I10W/Huebner - cool place, abundance of TVs, good menu, but higher than avg beer prices.

or

Brother's Pizza on Bandera - it's a hole in the wall that's near my home. They have good pizza and they should be showing the game --- should.  I have to double check.

If there is any interest, lemme know.

Hmm...
anyone in Little Rock who didn't pony up the extra $8/mo for the sports package on Comcast can come over to my house and watch the game.

Seriously, this game is the only reason I am spending that $96, yet it feels TOTALLY worth it.

NO BRYANT GUMBEL!!!
It doesn't get much better than this!  The Voice of Grass Growing is being replaced by Bluegrass Legend Tom Hammond on Thursday night's telecast. Here's hoping that this is a permanent move.  Thursday night just got even better...
