Site News: Liston's Back

I probably won't have the Post-Game Breakdown up until Monday evening, so you can expect relative radio silence until then.  Normally, I might feel a bit guilty about this malfeasance, but not tonight.  Why?  Because Liston's back.

If you don't know who Liston is, I suggest you check out the following:

BRB Postings by Liston
His Official Website

Frankly, his writing is approximately 196.8% funnier and -0.32% accurate than mine, so it's to your advantage to read his thoughts anyway.  I'll be back on Monday night.  Until then, remember that Mario Williams is the greatest athlete in the history of mankind.

Fair weather
Dude split around the 3-3 mark - we're now 7-7.  As long as we don't dip under .500, he'll stick around.

What?

Fairweather is one word.
You are correct, sir.

Liston

p.s. I just read through my diaries. I am a genius.

Correct correction
Fair weather is two words.  Fair-weather is two words combined to make one.  Fairweather is some fuckin mountain I had to look up.

P.s. This is genius.

I disapprove
What's this?  If I don't get a re-cap until Monday, how the hell am I supposed to spend my weekend?

Bottom line:  BRB, MDC, and Steph all need to produce more.   I'm tired of scouring google news, randomly searching for "mario williams," "texans rock," or "cowgirls suck."  If you all don't produce more, I might cut that salary in half.  Just try and see how far half of $0 gets you.

Otherwise, I'll be forced to read postings from that Michael Smith guy.  Or even, shudder, from the Chronicle.  And you wouldn't wish that on anyone, would you?

Awesome
Thank you, sir, for giving me another way to avoid studying antitrust law.

This reminds me.  It's time for my first Official Unofficial poll:

How many readers / members of the aforementioned Axis of Awesome (in no particular order:* DMC, Steph, and BRB) are either in or went through law school?

* They are in order.  Matt and Steph are both equally awesome, but Tim's failure to post the game report has demoted him to last.  Think of Tim as the Italy to their Germany and Japan.  Useless.  Bloody useless.

by HtownJuggernaut on Dec 15, 2007 5:00 PM CST up reply actions

damnz funny
I think the only people who regularly post here and didn't go to law school are 1Tex, Shake and I.

1Texan is the quality control inspector at a pantyhose plant in an unnamed South American country.

Shake molests collies.  And gets rich.  Ask him how today!

I'm a professional geek and pursuing my MBA.  I took 9 hours this semester, and I took nearly 6 hours of finals today.  I am consuming beer as quickly as I can bend my arm repeatedly.  My cat's breath smells like cat food.

Everybody else is a law-practicing person.  I think.

Shake is a crook!
I sent him $49.95 for the free DVD about collie molestation and he never sent a damn thing.

by MDC on Dec 15, 2007 5:10 PM CST up reply actions

I already sent you the Tracking #
Now quit bitching.  It's not my fault if FedEx employees opened it and have left it in the break-room for a few months.

Tell you what....why don't you send me another $49.95, and I'll see what I can do.

We can be critical of the draft picks, but in the end we always support the new Texan.

La Ley
I never had the inclination to become a lawyer (or the ambition for that matter).  I began my college career in pursuit of a degree in commnunications, but somehow joined the USAF. I got my BSOE in Avioinics and now here I am: working as a civil servant/tech sarge for the Air Force.

Ain't life grand?

my bad...
totally forgot about you, SOLIS, for which you should be eternally grateful...to be honest.  I mean, I would probably say that you are Lt. Col. in charge of ball bearings and fetzer valves, but that would be insulting.  i would never say that.

Congratulations
I hear PBR's good.  It won a blue ribbon.  That shit never lies.

Semi-regular
But I also did not attend law school.  In fact, I'm in the middle of getting my MBA.  So I guess this site is full of businessmen, lawyers, and canine molesters (insert lawyer/canine molester joke here).

MBA
As a business/finance undergrad major, I feel for you.  Not because it is soul-suckingly painful like law school, but because it is mind-numbingly dull.  Like sex with BFD.

by MDC on Dec 15, 2007 8:09 PM CST up reply actions

I'll take your word for it
The part about sex with BFD, that is.  The gub-mint already has me on the hook for my half-complete MBA.

I ain't no lawya
LibArts is teh L33T.  And hopefully I've got that one major in the school that isn't completely worthless: Urban Studies. With a business minor.  I've determined that I will end up with the most well-rounded edumakation of all!

I am also a semi-regular poster, and am still working on my B.A., but thankfully, I am graduating n May.

Me! Me! Me!
Yeah, I is a lawyur.  I'll give you three pieces of advice.  One: Don't go to law school.  Two:  Failing number one, don't attend class.  Three:  Failing one and two, don't pay attention in class--that's what Gore invented the internets for!

by MDC on Dec 15, 2007 5:10 PM CST up reply actions

I agree wholeheartedly.
And if I weren't in the last year, I'd drop out and see about starting my own business. I am, after all, the sole authorized producer and distributor of Awesome Points (now copyrighted and trademarked) in the world.

That's got to be worth almost as much as Jerome Mathis' foot. That thing represents the crushed hopes and dreams of thousands of Texans fans.  That should be a dollar or two, right?  It's tough putting a price tag on despair (though law schools try their best).

Sir
Htown... I'm convinced you're drunk on antitrust.  Yes I often wonder why I made this choice, but it's too late now.  Soon enough I'll be doing something lawyerly somewhere.  it sounds really need in theory - less so in practice.

Can i please have my soul back?

You trade it away years ago
For a day-old bagel, if I remember correctly.  I told you the bagel wasn't worth it, but you never listen.  Now you're not going to be able to pass the "Hand Over Your Soul" step of bar admission.  Way to fucking go, bro.

by HtownJuggernaut on Dec 15, 2007 5:31 PM CST up reply actions

Mmm mmm good.
That bagel was damn delicious.  I have no regrets!  Well... at least regarding the bagel.

Gangsta?
So uh hey... are you still taking gangster applications?  Cause everyone tells me i'm "Fo reelz" and my last job didn't appreciate "pimp slapping" the "hoz" that worked there.  I feel like your gang might be more accepting of my manner of communicating/working.

Quality
I'd give you awesome points, but I don't want to cheapen the new currency.

Right now, 50 awesome points lets you pick Travis Johnson's next target.  100 awesome points lets you choose Zidane's next target.

(Apologies for the non-manly reference to that other "sport").

by HtownJuggernaut on Dec 15, 2007 6:03 PM CST up reply actions

Awesome points? Seriously?
Anyone who says the phrase "awesome points" is a fag. It's a fact. And yes. We are currently accepting applications.

what else should we use?
SchruteBucks are good, but too popular.  Apparently "awesome points" are for fags.

I'm kind of afraid to ask, Liston, and BRB, but what should we use to designate awesome fucking badassness in commenting?

by BigTexBD on Dec 16, 2007 12:03 PM CST up reply actions

how about
"Sacks"?  With the way Super Mario's playing, we'll have an almost unlimited number of sacks to play with.

by HtownJuggernaut on Dec 16, 2007 12:58 PM CST reply actions

i dont know about you
but i've only got one sack to play with

by BigTexBD on Dec 16, 2007 3:17 PM CST up reply actions

Apparently
if you use, well, that phrase, you potentially have a plethora of sacks to play with.
