Should we take a look at signing Me-Shawn?

Before you say "Hell No", sit on it for a couple minutes.....

  1.  Last year with the Panthers, Johnson averaged 50 yards a game, 11.6 per carry compared to Moulds' 35 Y/G and 9.8 per carry.  I understand there was a definite difference in who was getting chucking the pigskin, but Delhomme's QB rating was actually pretty similar to Carr's last season.
  2.  On draft day, he sounded pretty excited to be the leader for a rookie WR (albeit a fellow Trojan).  Despite his previous character issues, apparently he became more of a team leader while at Carolina.
I believe he could definitely benefit this organization for a 2 year stint.  There's been a lot of talk about how this team needs someone to play opposite Andre, and help develop Jacoby.  If the front office has any kind of money left, I think they should make a few phone calls and see if he's willing to talk.

Discuss at will.

Well
We should at least get a $3MM discount thanks to the Panthers paying him the roster bonus.

I'm on the bandwagon that believes we could greatly benefit from a possession receiver like Keyshawn.  But I'm not sure that Houston is on his list.

We can be critical of the draft picks, but in the end we always support the new Texan.

Hmmm
My guess is that Keyshawn's reputation would keep him out of the Texans plans.

McNair (and Smithiak) put a priority on a squeaky clean character/team first personality and I don't see them budging for Keyshawn.  His talent would be welcome, but I just don't see it happening.

Good Point
I think the "MeShawn to H-Town" angle is probably moot.  He wouldn't want to come to a 6-10 team to play second-fiddle to Dre.  If he can't catch on with a playoff team, I'd bet he pursues a TV gig.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
