Dallas v. Houston--Open Thread

It's on, people.  Sure, it's just the preseason.  But it's Dallas, which means this one has a bit more at stake than a typical preseason game.  Lane-Tuskgegee ain't got nuthin' on this!

How will The Schaub handle Dallas' attacking defense?  Will the rushing game get back on track?  Will there be a semblance of a pass rush?  Will Petey Faggins continue to work as a covert operative for the opposition?  Most importantly, will this be Chad Stanley's last game in a Texans uniform?

Feel free to leave your pre-game, in-game, and post-game comments below.  Go Texans!

Low Def.....again
ABC-13 apparently refuses to broadcast a Texans' preseason game in HD....yet every other NFL preseason game I've watched on FOX, CBS, or ESPN has been in HD.

Now BFD won't be able to clearly see all of JJ's bulging muscles.

We can be critical of the draft picks, but in the end we always support the new Texan.

No Def....
Down here in El Salvador, I doubt I'll find a bar that has the game on...you'll have to be my play by play.  Oh and there is a fairly large group of US folks here from all over the US and they all are rooting for anyone other than the Dallas Cow pies, so if you translate that to the rest of the America, the Texans will have a huge fan base this week. Let's get it on!

Close, but...
It's probably more accurate to say "we'll try to mention the game at least 20% of the time."

19-10, bitches.

accuracy, smackuracy
You really think we'll get up to 20%...that's fairly optomistic.

BFD is my ringer to keep us in the teens.

<20%?
That just depends on the number of cougars, chubby-chasing male waiters, and random memories of the early 90s Oilers BFD encounters.

Only somewhat related:  In an effort to justify drinking beer all afternoon and evening, I have subjected my gray matter to a Lifetime movie over the past two hours.  The woman is placated.  I am the world's greatest drunk husband.

Dallas announcers just told me that Texans fans don't seem to like people from Dallas.  I'll add us to the list that already includes people from Philadelphia, DC, NYC, and non-drug users.

I hate Dallas announcers
I am new here, but I wanted to offer my two cents really quick.  I go to school at DBU (that's Dallas Baptist), and I have to listen to the Dallas announcers, and they are awful.  They have not mentioned a single Texans player, yet!  So, I would much rather listen to Allen and Tillman, but alas, I am not so lucky.

That was a nice stand by the whole line.

Babin hasn't been much of a factor since game 1.  I'm still pulling for him over Kalu, but it's looking less likely.

Fellas, I'm astounded.  400+ comments?  Amazing work.

I just got back from the game.  More detailed post to come, but some high points...

  1.  I am trying to get my dog to respond to "Jacoby."  It isn't working, but I'll keep trying.
  2.  The Schaub is ridiculous.  And amazing.  And efficient.  He completes me.
  3.  Take THAT, Super Mario haters!
  4.  Dunta looked LEGIT in coverage.  I'm ecstatic.
  5.  The running game looked disturbingly effective.
  6.  Sage Rosenfels is as underrated as it gets.
  7.  Okoye looked better than he has all preseason.
  8.  Why didn't Dallas throw at Faggins more?
  9.  Welcome to the family, Matt Turk.
  10.  Thanks for the nightmares, Chad Stanley.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
