NFL Combine Begins Saturday
Ahhhh, yes...that magical time of year when we all turn our increasingly agitated attention to the NFL Draft. The first real step toward that glorious April weekend occurs on Saturday, when selected potential draftees begin trying to tame the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. As you'd expect, the NFL Network will be covering every step taken in absurd detail. Here's when each position is scheduled to test:
OL
TE
Specialists (K, P, etc.)
02/24/08
QB
RB
WR
02/25/08
DL
LB
02/26/08
CB
S
What drills will the NFL be putting some of its future members through? Glad you asked:
Bench Press
Three-Cone Drill
Broad Jump
Vertical Leap
20-Yard Shuttle
60-Yard Shuttle
Position-Specific Drills
Physical Measurements
NFL Team Interviews
The Wonderlic Test
The Cybex Test
Injury Evaluation
For a certain Texan's thoughts on the combine process, check this out. Don't know about you, but I was grinning the entire time I read.
Update [2008-2-20 17:25:37 by Tim]: Take a gander at this from Mile High Report for an excellent look at target numbers for each position on the physical tests. Really, really nice work.

MHR
Missing horse junk aside, it's an interesting read. I wonder if David Boston lifted during the 99 combine? I bet he could give the average lineman a run for his money. Fuckin' monstro.

Damn, looking back that Mock Draft was fun stuff. Can't wait to see what happens this year, now that The Family has grown.
