The Mothership making it official after today's 35-31 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Ryans suffered an Achilles injury right before halftime when he attempted to deflect a pass in the red zone. Losing the Captain will hurt, but the defense has other, more pressing, problems to address.

If you were worried about David Anderson returning punts or the overall depth of the wide receiver corps, then you'll find this to be good news. Per Nick Scurfield, Jacoby Jones is expected to return Sunday against the Chiefs. Jones missed last week's disaster and had not practiced Wednesday or Thursday due to a calf injury. We would be set if Gary Kubiak would smarten up and have him return kickoffs.

This news isn't that surprising. However, we should take it as confirmation that Owen has looked good in practice. On a related note, Daniels had a snap count of 15-20 for Sunday's game when he was initially cleared. Earlier this week, Kubiak said it was 20-25. Now? He'll see how Daniels feels throughout the game to determine his playing time. As we head towards Sunday's opener, I'll take any and all good signs the team offers.
