Amobi Playing Injured

Not sure if this has popped up in the comments somewhere already, but it appears our boy Amobi has been playing with a "high ankle sprain" for some time now.  This is according to Kuharsky's blog.

In some respects, this would be similar to Mario's first year: playing through an injury that stunted (at least stat wise) his growth as a player.

I've not been willing to start voicing my skepticism about Amobi based on his play this year.  He's younger than a lot of incoming rookies will be this year and has a lot of room to develop.  The injury would go a long way toward explaining some of his troubles this season.

Sean Taylor

It's sort of sobering to be reminded of what truly constitutes a tragedy compared to say... when Mittens takes the field.

Taylor had a troubled start to his career, but he seemed to be turning it around this season both on and off the field.

What I find most disturbing is that this just reminds us of a culture that needs to be stomped out.  Pac-Man, Vick... this is the end game.  And athletes need to wake up to that reality.  It makes me doubly proud to be a Texans fan when I look at the character of this team.  Not an indictment of Sean Taylor - but of the culture and environment that surrounded him.

This really does illustrate the place of a sports team in a fans life.  A classmate of mine is a hardcore Redskins fan and he's legitimately devastated.  If this had been The Schaub, or Dunta (considering what he went through this offseason) - I don't know how I'd react.
