Kris Brown Gets His Due

After setting a league record by kicking not one, not two, but three (3!) field goals from fifty-four (54!) yards or longer (including the game-winning 57 yarder) in last week's victory over Miami, Kris Brown has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.  Kudos to Kris Brown on this honor, but greater kudos on the honor of being recognized as a football player (instead of a kicker) by N.D. Kalu.  From his comments, it seems like Brown is more geeked by the second honor than the first.

By the way--that's a conference defensive player of the week award (Super Mario for Week One), a defensive rookie player of the month award (Amobi Okoye for September), and a conference special teams player of the week award (Kris Brown) by Week Five.  Not too shabby for a squad that's quickly erasing any national punchline status.
