Bakersfield's Finest Is Having Fun Again!

Yay!  I'm thrilled to hear that banking approximately $30,000,000.00 the past five (5) years in our state income tax-free little town wasn't "fun" enough for our former QB:

"You've got to enjoy the game," Carr said. "If you're not having fun, it's going to be like what I had the last couple of years where you almost don't even want to come to work."

You know what's not fun?  Watching your QB curl up into the fetal position each time a defender gets within ten feet of him.  Now that I think about it, I guess I haven't had a lot of fun watching professional football the last five (5) years either.  Except, you know, I didn't make the equivalent of the GNP of a small nation to witness Carr run out of bounds five yards behind the line of scrimmage twice a game.  I, like other Houston fans, had to pay money for the privilege of watching Carr lead the squad to records of 4-12, 5-11, 7-9, 2-14, and 6-10.

Earlier in this space, I applauded Carr for staying classy in his departure from H-Town.  While he has continued to refrain from directly bashing the Texans, the "woe is me/I didn't have any fun/I'm having fun now" act is wearing a bit thin.  September 16, 2007 can't get here quickly enough.
