Back in '09, we did an interactive first-round mock draft here on BRB. Basically, we ran through the first round by posting a poll for people to vote on who each team would take. Here's an example of what I'm talking about.
As we ready ourselves for BRB's mocking of the 2011 NFL Draft, I'm here to ask you which format you'd prefer: The aforementioned community poll for each pick, or having community members volunteer to act as pseudo-GM for designated teams (e.g., one person acting as the decision-maker for the Panthers, another person acting in that capacity for the Bills, and so on)?
In terms of simplicity, it's tough to beat the community poll model that we used in 2009. On the other hand, it has its shortcomings. For example, trades are much easier to incorporate if we adopt the one-user-acts-as-GM model, though that format also assumes that the pseudo-GM has a solid grasp on the needs of his squad, which might be asking too much in a forum that's dominated by fans of the same team.
What's your preference? Sound off in the Comments.
