The first rule of BRB's College Football Open Thread is that we pretend the game in Austin on Thanksgiving night never happened. The second through 989th rule of BRB's College Football Open Thread is that we pretend the game in Austin on Thanksgiving night never happened.

Today could very well be the single best day of the entire college football season. You've got Georgia-Georgia Tech (11 a.m. CST), Michigan-Ohio State (11 a.m. CST), Oregon-Oregon State (2 p.m. CST), Florida-Florida State (2:30 p.m. CST), Oklahoma State-Dirt Burglar Community College (2:30 p.m. CST), Auburn-Alabama (2:30 p.m. CST), Stanford-UCLA (5:30 p.m. CST), South Carolina-Clemson (6 p.m. CST), Mizzou-A&M (6 p.m. CST), and Notre Dame-Stanford (7 p.m. CST).

You'll notice The University of Texas is not playing today. That's because the NCAA decided the Horns will receive a bye to the national championship game. It's not because they laid an egg in Austin on Thursday night. I personally talked to the Bowl Championship Series executive committee last night about it. I will neither confirm nor deny that the aforementioned conversation consisted of me sobbing into my son's Fisher Price phone at 1:24 a.m. CST.

What's important is that you have this open thread to partake in throughout the day, and your Houston Texans are 10-1. If you need a suggestion on some players to watch, I highly recommend taking a look at Brett's latest excellent post. Enjoy your afternoon.
