Brice McCain Has Surgery On Broken Foot

Mark Berman and Tania Ganguli report that Brice McCain's mysterious injury in yesterday's win over the Titans is now known. And it ain't good.

Get well soon, Brice.
Get well soon, Brice.
The Star-Ledger-US PRESSWIRE

Mark Berman is reporting that Brice McCain suffered a broken foot in yesterday's win over the Titans in Nashville and underwent surgery today. Tania Ganguli takes it a bit further, informing us of how long McCain is expected to be out of action:

#Texans CB Brice McCain had surgery this morning to repair his broken foot. He'll be out about 6 weeks, per a person familiar w/injury.

McCain was the best nickel corner in the league last year. This year, he has...not been the best nickel corner in the league, to put it mildly. Nevertheless, this is a notable loss. Brandon Harris should finally get a shot at regular reps in the slot (beginning with the Patriots, in New England, on Monday Night Football...don't worry, no one will be watching), and the return of a healthy Johnathan Joseph (and Alan Ball, for depth purposes) takes on added importance, if your level of concern wasn't already at Threat Level Midnight.

If Ganguli's source is right, that would mean Brice McCain could conceivably come back for the AFC Divisional Playoff round game. If the Texans are playing that weekend, of course. Don't want to jinx it.
