Whitney Mercilus is your newest Texan, and that should be cause for celebration. While many of us may have been intrigued by Nick Perry, Jonathan Martin, Coby Fleener, or Stephen Hill, Mercilus should step in immediately to provide depth at OLB, likely in a rotation with Brooks Reed. It's safe to assume Wade Phillips was the mastermind of this pick, and if that doesn't give you confidence in it, I don't know what to tell you.
With the first round in the books, where will the Texans go in the second and third round tomorrow night?
My guess is that by the end of tomorrow night, the Texans have addressed the much-debated wide receiver position. With their other pick (barring a trade, of course), I reckon they go BPA on their board, as long as BPA is not a QB or a RB. Maybe OL, but that could still be a couple of rounds away from becoming a focal point. What do you think will happen?
