With The Fifteenth Pick Of The 2012 BRB Mock Draft, The Philadephia Eagles Select...

This pick marks a first for us at Battle Red Blog. Why? Because it's the first pick delivered while the GM is serving in-school suspension. Well done, splanket. I'm proud to call you a future Longhorn.

Who did this modern day John Bender select for the Eagles? The jump knows.

As I am currently in In-School Suspension for skipping about 25 math classes, this will probably be one of the shorter pick analyses out there.

Anyway, although I wanted Fletcher Cox here to shore up talent on the D-line, he was taken just before, at pick 14, to the Cokeboys. I was also looking for LB talent at the beginning of this mock draft, but the Eagles have since traded for one DeMeco Ryans, so the LB corps is solidified for now. I was left with two options--get O-Line help in the form of Riley Reiff from Iowa to replace Jason Peters after his torn Achilles, or get Mark Barron from Alabama to plug a hole at the safety position (of course, if Juan Castillo ever actually decided to play Nnamdi Asomugha in man-to-man, this wouldn't be much of a problem).

Ultimately, I went with Riley Reiff (OT--Iowa). He was higher up on my Big Board, will ideally fill a need by getting Michael Vick the protection he needs, and will help the Eagles recover from the loss of Peters.

With that, the New York Jets, commandeered by rexthejet, who I can only assume is a Giants fan, are on the clock. As the draft will resume on Monday morning, I would ask Rex to turn his pick in to MDC and I by 7 p.m. CDT on Sunday evening. I trust he will use the extra time to decide exactly who he should draft at QB.
