Checking The Pulse: How Confident Are You In Andre Johnson This Season?

How much of this will we see in 2012?
How much of this will we see in 2012?

Andre Johnson is the best player to ever wear a Houston Texans uniform. When healthy, Andre Johnson is one of the, if not the, best wide receiver(s) on the planet. The first two words of the preceding sentence are the crux of the issue in evaluating what we should expect from 'Dre this season.

A little more than a month ago, Andre Johnson had his knee scoped. He played in only seven games last year, he hasn't played a full sixteen game season in 2009, and he turns 31 years old next month.

After Andre Johnson, wide receiver is a gigantic question mark for your Houston Texans. Kevin Walter does what Kevin Walter does, and while that's important to what the Texans do on offense, K-Dub will never be confused with a WR1. After Walter, the Texans have nothing approaching a proven commodity. That's not to say that Lestar Jean, DeVier Posey, Keshawn Martin, or someone else can't step up; it's simply saying that we have no evidence that any of them will.

If 'Dre isn't 'Dre in 2012, the Texans' passing game, and thus the Texans' offense, is nowhere near what it can be. Therefore, I ask you, BRB: What do you expect to see out of Andre Johnson this year?
